1.Who We Are and Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how 9 Lanes Media, formerly Brightside Creative ("9 Lanes Media," "we," "us," or "our"), a company based in Los Angeles, California, collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information. It applies to www.9lanesmedia.com (the "Site"), to email you send to or receive from an @9lanesmedia.com address, and to the video, photo, sponsorship, social media, consulting, and marketing services we provide (the "Services"). It does not apply to websites or accounts run by others, including the schools, clubs, sponsors, and platforms where content we produce may be published. "Personal information" means information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked with a particular person or household.
2.Information We Collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Email correspondence: your name, email address, organization, role, and anything else you include when you write to us.
- Client and sponsor engagements: business contact details, schedules, rosters, billing contacts, and materials you provide so that we can perform the Services. We do not store full payment card numbers.
- Community Coach Awards: contact details and nomination information provided to us for the awards, and information needed to notify winners and deliver prizes.
2.2 Information we create while providing Services
When a school, club, league, or sponsor engages us, we photograph and record games, meets, practices, banquets, and similar events. That content may show athletes, coaches, staff, and spectators, and may be paired with names, jersey numbers, class years, and results supplied by the client. See Section 5.
2.3 Information collected automatically
Like most websites, the servers that host the Site automatically record standard log data: IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system type, referring page, pages requested, and the date and time of each request. We use it to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site, not to build advertising profiles. The Site has no contact form, sign-up form, or user accounts.
3.Categories, Purposes, and Retention
The table summarizes, by California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") category, the personal information we collect, why we use it, to whom we disclose it for a business purpose, and how long we keep it.
| Category | Examples | Purposes | Disclosed to | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Name, email, organization, IP address | Respond to inquiries; deliver Services; administer awards; secure the Site | Service providers | Inquiries: about 24 months after last contact. Server logs: up to 90 days. |
| Customer and commercial records | Billing contacts, agreements, invoices, sponsorship terms | Contract performance, billing, recordkeeping | Service providers; professional advisors | Term of engagement plus 7 years |
| Audio, visual, and similar information | Photos, video, interview audio | Producing and delivering content for clients | The client who commissioned the work; platforms where the client or we publish it | As set by the client agreement |
| Professional information | Coaching role, team, school, club | Client communications; awards administration | Clients (for their own programs) | Same as the related record |
We do not collect biometric information, precise geolocation, or account log-in credentials through the Site, and we do not create profiles about you. We may keep information longer where needed to comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements, and we delete or de-identify it when no longer needed.
4.How We Use and Disclose Information
We use information to respond to inquiries and prepare proposals; to perform, deliver, and bill for the Services; to administer the Community Coach Awards, including notifying winners and meeting tax and legal obligations; to operate, secure, and improve the Site; to comply with law and defend legal claims; and for any other purpose we describe when we collect the information or for which you consent.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose personal information only to: service providers acting on our behalf under written terms (such as email, website hosting, cloud storage, accounting, and tax or payment-processing providers); clients who commissioned the Services; government authorities where required by law; professional advisors under duties of confidentiality; a successor in a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business; and others where we believe in good faith disclosure is needed to protect rights, property, or safety. We may share de-identified or aggregate information and will not try to re-identify it.
Sensitive information. We do not ask for Social Security numbers, bank account details, or passwords by regular email, and the Site does not collect them. Where we or our service providers must collect tax or payment information for prize winners, it is collected through a secure process provided for that purpose, not by regular email.
5.Student Athletes, Minors, and Media We Produce
- We photograph and record minors only under an engagement with a school, district, league, club, or booster organization, and we rely on that organization's media consent and release process for its athletes. We follow any opt-out list the organization provides.
- We do not publish a minor's home address, phone number, email address, or school schedule, and we do not use a minor's name or likeness in our own advertising without written consent from a parent or legal guardian.
- A parent or legal guardian, or an athlete who is 18 or older, may ask us to remove or stop using a specific photo or video. We will remove it from channels we control, normally within 10 business days, and forward the request to the client that commissioned it. We cannot delete copies that others have downloaded or re-shared.
- The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
6.Cookies, Analytics, and Do Not Track
The Site does not set advertising or tracking cookies, does not use third-party analytics or advertising pixels, and does not track you across other websites. The Site loads typefaces from Google Fonts; when it does, your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser information under Google's Privacy Policy. If we add analytics or other cookies, we will update this Policy first and provide any notice and choices required by law. Because we do not track visitors across third-party websites, our practices do not change in response to a "Do Not Track" signal. We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid opt-out request, although we do not sell or share personal information.
7.Your Choices and California Privacy Rights
You can unsubscribe from any marketing email by replying or using the unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to correct inaccurate information. California residents have the following rights under the CCPA, and we honor these requests from all California residents:

- Right to correct
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out

How to submit a request: email hello@9lanesmedia.com with the subject "Privacy Request." We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days, and may extend by up to 45 more days if we tell you why. We verify your identity by matching information you provide against information we hold. You may use an authorized agent, and we may ask for proof of the agent's authority. We may decline a request where the law allows and will explain why. Shine the Light (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83): we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.
8.How We Protect Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for the Site, access limited to people who need the information, and protected business email accounts. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If we learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by California Civil Code § 1798.82 and other applicable law.
9.Third-Party Sites and Platforms
The Site may link to, and content we produce may be published on, websites and platforms operated by others, including our clients. They collect and use information under their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.
10.Changes to This Policy
We review this Policy at least once a year. When we change it, we will post the revised version here and update the "Last updated" date. For a material change to how we use personal information we already hold, we will give notice on the Site or by email before it takes effect and, where required, obtain your consent.
